Giving Tuesday is an international movement designed to extend the spirit of giving thanks into the Advent season. Following is a Giving Tuesday letter from Thomas Kemper, the General Secretary of the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church:

Thanksgiving has come and gone, but it’s not too late to give thanks for the blessings in your life. You can do that by giving to those in need on UMC #GivingTuesday Nov. 28.

UMC #GivingTuesday, the biggest online fundraising event for The Advance, is your chance to join thousands of United Methodists in a celebration of generosity.

The Advance is a great way to connect your passion with God’s mission. At UMCmission.org/Give, you can browse and search more than 600 United Methodist-related projects and more than 300 United Methodist missionaries to find the best fit for your generosity. And remember: When you give to The Advance, 100 percent of your gift goes directly to the cause you specify.

We encourage you to share this information with your friends, family and church members. The more people who share in this celebration of generosity, the more hope and healing we can give.

With blessings and thanks for your generosity,

Thomas Kemper
