Prelude – O, How I Love Jesus

Greeting/Welcome

Call to Worship

Leader:  Though there are rulers, presidents, kings, queens, God is the Lord of all life.

Peopler:  In God we live and move and have our being.

Leader:  God requires our faithfulness and our service.

People:  We reach out to others with the same kind of love with which God has touched our lives.

Leader:  Come, let us worship the Lord who is always with us.

People:  Let us praise God who walks daily by our side.  Amen.

Opening Prayer (Unison)

Teach us, good Lord, to serve you as you deserve;

to give and not to count the cost;

to fight and not to heed the wounds;

to toil and not to seek for rest;

to labor and not to ask for any reward,

except that of knowing that we do your will;

through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Opening Hymn – O Worship the King (Verses 1 & 4)

Prayer of Confession

Leader: Let us confess our sin, calling for God’s transforming power.

All:  Forgive us, O God, when we stumble in the darkness and turn away from your face. Strengthen us to walk in your brightness and live in your ways.  Enlighten the shadows that keep us from growing in your love and light.  Shower us with your grace, that we might shine as your people upon this earth.  Amen

Silent Prayer

Assurance of Pardon

Leader:  When we cry to God, looking for favor in God’s sight, God answers: “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”  In the power of the Spirit and in the name of Jesus, we are forgiven!  We will rest in God’s mercy!

People: Thanks be to God!  Amen!
