2021! A milestone year for Healthy Women, Healthy Liberia. This will be our 10th year since the founding of HWHL in 2011 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and our 5th year since the dedication of our Waterfield Primary Healthcare Center in 2016. This life-saving ministry exists thanks to you, our partners, who answered Christ’s call to love our neighbors everywhere. You’ve supported us through your prayers, donations and words of encouragement. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
This year will be a year of recovery from the pandemic that impacted both our patient volume (government mandated lockdowns) and donations. We praise God that to date there have been no cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in Margibi County. Nonetheless, our staff at Waterfield and our Community Health workers continue to protect themselves and the community by faithfully wearing PPE.
Our big news for 2021centers on the plan for a new Maternity Center and Surgical Suite at Waterfield. According to World Bank Data, Liberia’s Maternal Mortality Rate of 661 deaths per 100,000 live births ranks 8th highest in the world (2017 data). These new clinic additions will save lives of mothers and their babies who currently have limited options for safe birthing. Highlights

Christmas Outreach
At our 2020 Christmas Outreach we were able to feed over 1000 children and provide much needed clothing.
HWHL in the News
On January 27th the ministry of HWHL was highlighted as the lead story in the global United Methodist News Daily Digest. Our hearts were touched by Alice Nyankolor who broke into a song of praise when she received her wheelchair.
