Fourth Sunday of Easter

Order of Worship

Prelude – Shepherd Me, O God – arr. Mark Hayes

Greeting/Welcome

Call to Worship

Leader: Come, let us kneel at the feet of the Good Shepherd.

People: The Good Shepherd lays down his life for the sheep and cares for the sheep.

Leader: The Good Shepherd knows each sheep by name.

People: Good Shepherd, tender of our souls, we worship you today.

Opening Prayer (Unison)

Loving Shepherd, you know our names; you care for us.   When we face darkness and death, walk beside us.  When we hunger for your love, fill us with your presence.  When we are fearful, feed us at your table.  May we dwell in the house of goodness and mercy all the days of our lives. Amen.

Opening Hymn – O, For a Thousand Tongues to Sing – #57 UMH

Affirmation of Faith  – #833 UMH

We are not alone, we live in God’s world.   We believe in God: who has created and is creating, who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new, who works in us and others by the Spirit.  We trust in God.  We are called to be the Church:  to celebrate God’s presence, to live with respect in Creation, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope.  In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us.  We are not alone. Thanks be to God.
