Call to Worship

Leader: Come, take refuge in the Lord, for God is good.

People: From the storms and struggles of life we come.

Leader: Come, rejoice in the Lord, for God will provide peace for you.

People: From fear and anxiety, we come to find peace.

Leader: Come, open your hearts to the Lord and you will be given a blessing.

People: Thanks be to God for the many ways in which we are blessed. 

 

Opening Prayer (Unison)

Open our eyes, Lord. Help us to see Jesus as he reaches out to heal our blindness. Help us to let go of all those things that keep us in darkness. This day, as your word is proclaimed, let our hearts and souls respond with joy. Transform our lives to do your will. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. AMEN.

Affirmation of Faith

Leader: There is one God and there is one mediator, Christ Jesus, who came as a ransom for all, to whom we testify.

People: This saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance: That Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners, and was manifested in the flesh, vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed in throughout the world, taken up to glory.  Great indeed is the mystery of the Gospel.  Amen.
