Order of Worship

Prelude

Greeting/Welcome

Call to Worship

Leader: We gather together to worship, knowing that God is already here among us;

People: Knowing that there is nothing that separates us from the presence of our Lord.

Leader: Wherever we are, wherever we go,

People: God is near.

Leader: So let us enter into this service of worship with confidence and hope, knowing that God is already with us,

People: and that God stands eager to meet us and bless us with love.

Opening Prayer (Unison)

Holy One, there is no God like you. In praise and thanksgiving, we come before you ready to learn of your power, ready to follow your path for our lives. Through days of jubilation as well as dejection, help us realize your influence in the world. We ask simply for ears to hear, eyes to see, and minds to comprehend the blessings you bestow. Amen.

Opening Hymn – Morning Has Broken

Prayer of Confession (Unison)

God of all nations, we praise you that in Christ the barriers that have separated humanity are torn down. Yet we confess our slowness to open our hearts and minds to those of other lands, languages, and races. Deliver us from the sins of fear and prejudice, that we may move toward the day when all are truly one in Jesus Christ. Amen.

Silent Prayer

Words of Assurance

Leader:  May almighty God, who caused light to shine out of darkness, shine in our hearts, cleansing us from all our sins, and restoring us to the light of the knowledge of God’s glory, in the face of Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.

People:  Thanks be to God! Amen.
