Third Sunday of Easter

Order of Worship

Prelude – Thine is the Glory – arr. Mark Hayes

Greeting/Welcome

Call to Worship

Leader: Peace be with you.

People: And also with you.

Leader: Come and see the love God has given to us.

People: Come and see what it means to be children of God.

Leader: Come with this hope, that Christ’s presence is real.

People: With joy, we come to see the Lord.

Opening Prayer (Unison)

Miraculous God, come to us now, even as your Son came to those first disciples.  Speak your peace to our hearts. Touch us with your Holy Spirit.  Reveal your word, that we may hear your message this day, and live as your disciples in the days and years to come.  In Christ’s name, we pray. Amen.

Opening Hymn – Thine Be the Glory – #308 UMH

Affirmation of Faith#889 UMH

Leader: There is one God and there is one mediator, Christ Jesus, who came as a ransom for all, to whom we testify.

People: This saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance: that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners, and was manifested in the flesh, vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed in throughout the world, taken up in glory.  Great indeed is the mystery of the gospel. Amen.
