Opening Hymn

Call to Worship

LEADER: Your light is your Word; your blessings are our lamp.

PEOPLE: Dark and twisting is the road to peace;

LEADER: Happy the generation whose light will guide them to its end.

PEOPLE: When all our children are taught of the Lord, great shall be the peace of all children.

Opening Prayer

We praise you God for the holiness of ordinary things —a song of praise, a prayer of thanksgiving, a word, a loaf of bread, a cup, a fountain of water. Send your spirit to rush, cool and clear, through our dry and brittle places. May the spirit seep into the cracks and crevices of our hearts, that we might know you more fully and worship you more deeply. Amen.

Affirmation of Faith – The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried, the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen
